Welcome to the Department of Biology

Welcome to the Department of Biology at New Mexico State University, home of nearly 100 Graduates, 700 Undergraduates, and 24 faculty members.

Our department offers Masters and PhD degrees with 3 graduate emphases (Cell and Organismal Biology,Ecology and Evolution, as well as Microbiology), 2 Bachelor of Science degrees (Biology and Microbiology), a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, a Bachelor of Conservation Ecology, as well as minors in Biology, Microbiology, Human Biology, and Conservation Ecology. In addition to seeking the actual degree, undergraduates and graduate students (thesis and non-thesis alike) are strongly encouraged to gain research experience by joining one of the diverse research laboratories and working with other students and faculty.
