Brief Description Of Funds:
The purpose of this grant is to provide small funds for the purchase of equipment and supplies directly related to the student’s thesis/dissertation, that can not otherwise be funded through the GSC (Graduate Student Council) or ASNMSU (Associated Students of NMSU). The total funds available for the grant is $1,000.00 for Summer 2009, provided by the Biology Department.

Deadline: The completed application is due Friday, May 1st, 2009 by 11:00 AM in the mailbox of Landry Nfonsam in the Biology Department Office.

Eligibility:
The applicant must be a graduate student who is a current member of the BGSO. The applicant is required to either attend 3 BGSO meetings or the applicant can organize a community service event for the BGSO. To qualify for organizing a community service even, the event must be a minimum of 4 hours, have a minimum of five volunteers, and must be approved by the BGSO prior to the date of the event.  The maximum amount of any request cannot exceed $500.00, and smaller requests are encouraged.

  This grant will not fund costs associated with travel to a conference/workshop/ or field research.
Food and drink are also not eligible for funding (with the exception of supplies for the husbandry needs of research organisms in the lab or field).
