Format
  • The portfolio should be neatly organized, and separated by assignment.
  • The  portfolio cover page should have the last five digits of your social security number but not your name! 
  • All assignments should be typed and doubled-spaced
  • Keep a copy of the portfolio for your records
  • OPTIONAL. It is STRONGLY recommended that you supplement your portfolio with other notes, web sites, thoughts, news clippings etc you may have assembled as part of the class  assignments.  This will be a valuable resource for YOU.  I would enjoy seeing this if you wish to submit it for me to review.  The supplement should be included as a separateappendix.
  • Contents
    • (20 points) Submit the material you prepared for your team presentation
      • Include a self critique.  what did you like about your presentation?  What would you change?
    • (60 pts) Prepare TWO “discovery” papers/letters (30 pts each) on the themes covered in the presentations Feb 26-Apr 16 
      • you cannot cover the material in your own presentation
      • what you write can be written as
        • a response to thoughts provoked by an article (submit the article) 
        • can be directed to an editor of a paper, a friend, a relative
      • 2-4 pages is abour right for each one (600-100 words)
    • (50 pts) Submit summaries (25 pts each) for  two of the three outside speaker presentations: 

    • (1) Dr. Shuster     (2) Dr. Votava      (3) Randall and Manuelito
      • succinctly list key ethical issues 
      • highlight what you considered novel or significant information.
      • ~ 2 pages each 
    • (20 pts) Read Chapters 12 (Social Fairness), 13 (Resource Allocation) 14 (Risk) and 15 ( Differing Ethical Systems) in Fundamentals of Ethics.  Submit TWO from the following case studies (10 pts each).
