This assignment is a problem set. 

It requires you to integrate and apply your knowledge of electronics, thermodynamics, basic math, and membrane transport phenomena to the solution of problems in electrophysiology.

The problem set will be handed out IN CLASS.  Marti or Krisstal can provide you with another copy if you lose the copy you received.

Guidelines for the problem set:

• Open book, notes, brain. 
• You may work with other students in a group.  If you do, abide by the following

§ Your group must not exceed 4 people. 

§ If you work together,

§ Hand in ONE set of solutions

§ All of you will get the same grade.

• You are encouraged to work with others BUT the goal is to achieve understanding.  Therefore, it is suggested you FIRST get as far as you can on your own, THEN join forces to talk about the problems. 
• On the exam you will be asked to apply what you learn so if you do not UNDERSTAND, you will not be prepared for the exams.

Prepare the problem set as follows:

o Type the answers and include ALL the members of your group listed by the last 5 digits of the SSN.

o Show your work for the calculations. (no names, just last 5 digits of SSN)

o Keep a xerox copy for your records!!!

o WATCH UNITS CAREFULLY AND CHECK YOUR MATH. 

o THERE IS NO PARTIAL CREDIT.
